Sloe Gin

A receipt for Sloe Gin from my mother.


By mass a ratio of 3:8 sugar to sloes (1 lb sloes to 6 oz sugar)


  1. Half fill glass jars with sloes
  2. Sprinkle with sugar, cover with gin
  3. Keep tightly corked in a fairly warm place for 3 months, shaking the jar occasionally
  4. Strain into bottles
  5. Cork tightly
